Position Overview
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join their team in Livermore, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position that requires expertise in managing accounts payable processes, specifically within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will handle various accounting tasks, ensuring that purchase orders and invoices are processed accurately and timely. This role is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable tasks, including purchase orders and change order requests, which directly affect the accounting desk.
- Process AP invoices and tasks from the billing desk efficiently.
- Prepare and check 1099s, with the controller responsible for preparation and signing.
- Set up new vendors as needed, including requesting W-9 forms.
- Process daily A/P for overhead, equipment, and jobs, ensuring all invoices are date-stamped.
- Match packing slips, receipts, and purchase orders to invoices, obtaining approvals if applicable.
- Enter data into the SAGE 300 A/P module, posting to correct periods and payment dates.
- Process quick pay invoices for utilities and credit cards, ensuring timely payments.
- Request lien releases from suppliers and subcontractors when payments are made, sending them to customers.
- Conduct check runs, matching and verifying checks to invoices, and preparing checks for mailing.
- Respond to vendor inquiries for payment
Qualifications
- Experience in the construction industry is required for a salary of $27-29/hour.
- Great tenure at previous companies is essential.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
